Southern exposure: monuments and museums

Start your trip with a visit to one of the most beautiful places in the Leningrad region - the Palace Park in Gatchina. Take a walk in silence near the shore of the White Lake. There are many small islets on the lake, which are connected to each other by small bridges.

Not far from the village of Kobrinskoye there is another interesting place - the house of the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin's nanny Arina Rodionovna. Here you can recreate the peasant way of life and the environment of old times, get acquainted with the early years of the writer's life, and learn a lot about his ancestors.
The museum is open from Wednesday to Sunday.

You can grab a bite to eat at Vyr. The inn has an authentic Russian stove and the interior is dominated by wood. The menu is simple: borscht, handmade dumplings, chops and several salads. The cooking here, as they say, is soulful.

Rozhdestvenno estate has long belonged to the Rukavishnikovs and Nabokovs. Vladimir Nabokov wrote about it in his novel "The Other Shores".
There are interesting excursions around the manor: you will visit the main house, walk through the park, see the noblemen's tennis court and ancient caves, which were on this site back in the times of the dinosaurs.

Not far from the town of Luga, surrounded by pine trees, stands the Memorial of Partisan Glory. Make a short stop to commemorate the freedom fighters of the Soviet people.

Before dinner you can take a walk in the public garden. Here you can see armoured vehicles, a stele "City of Military Glory", and memorial plaques honouring the heroes who defended these places during the Great Patriotic War.

A good option for dining in Luga is Café Chaplin. On weekends there are often dance parties and performances by local musicians.
