    Highlights

    • Walk along the cobblestone streets and past the wooden structures in Norway's oil capital.
    • Go on a hike to the top of Preikestolen and enjoy panoramic views over the fjord.
    • Learn about the role Western Norway played in the resistance movement of World War II.
Norway is well-known for its fantastic nature, but it also has a deep cultural and historical heritage that many may not be familiar with. On this three-day roundtrip itinerary, you will be able to experience both of those things.
On day 1 you will follow the stories of the resistance fighters who stood their ground and fought for their country during World War II. Your museum visit will introduce you to the names and faces of Norway's bravest, including the lesser-known women who broke the status quo in a male-dominated space, through a number of exhibitions that also take into account the strategic role the areas surrounding Bergen played in the fight against the Nazis. After two ferry rides and a drive through stunning natural sights, your history lesson continues with a stop at a monument to the former viking chief who united the country into one kingdom.
Day 2 will be magical for the hikers among you. Preikestolen or Pulpit's Rock is every hiker's dream, and on this day you'll embark on the four-hour journey to its peak. A hearty lunch at the mountain lodge below will help fuel you for the rest of the day before you take a ferry over to Odda with some waterfall sights along the way.
On your final day, you'll be greeted with two national parks, Hardangervidda and Folgefonna. You'll take as much time as you'd like to walk at leisure or spot for wildlife. On the way back to Bergen, you will take a cable car ride up and be rewarded with an exquisite fine dining experience as you gaze down at the landscape below.
