If you like the second option, start exploring the old city from the Gate of St Athanasios. Tradition says that they are associated with many of the most important points in the history of Rhodes. Through this gate, Sultan Suleiman entered the fortress, and then ordered to seal them, in the hope that this would help him to retain the claimed power.
