    Story Land

Story Land is a long-standing amusement park centered around fairytales. While most of the rides and activities are directed toward children from 4-12, the theme park has something of a nostalgic cult following among adults. In fact, the park recently implemented “Nostalgia Nights,” where storybook lovers of all ages are invited to visit park favorites like Cinderella’s Castle and the Polar Coaster.

    Diana's Baths

The gentle falls of Diana’s Baths are situated along Lucy Brook, just northwest of North Conway. Here, glacial potholes form natural pools, waterslides, and showers that cascade across the smooth granite. The features are usually gentle enough for kids to enjoy, but adults will delight in the unique scenery and the chance to cool off on a hot summer’s day. The path to the baths is a flat .6 mile.

    Stairway Cafe

Climb on up to the Stairway Cafe for lunch, and ask if you can sit outside on the balcony. This quirky building, decorated with knick-knacks, funky tablecloths, and an homage to Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” is a prime perch for North Conway people watching. They specialize in breakfast (served all day), but you’ll find sandwiches, burgers, soups, and more in the lunch options.
The Stairway Cafe is open from 8:00 - 14:00 Friday - Wednesday. Closed Thursdays.

    Zeb's General Store

Take a trip back in time at Zeb’s General Store, a favorite shopping destination in North Conway village. Zeb’s peddles goods from specialty foods (like Blueberry Honey) to personal care items like soap and bath bombs. They also have a Guinness Book of World Records -holding penny-candy counter with over 700 selections in old-timey glass jars. Grab a souvenir for your loved ones or stock up on sweets for the long ride back to Boston.

    Garrison Hill Park

Stop to stretch your legs at the Garrison Hill Tower, an impressive platform overlooking the city of Dover, New Hampshire. From the parking area at the top of Abbey Sawyer Memorial Highway, it’s a short few yards to the tower (although you’ll need to be physically able to climb several sets of steps). You’ll also find picnic tables, a small playground, and a spacious field, but the view from the top of the tower is the real destination.

    The Wilder

Break for dinner in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, just before you cross the border back into Massachusetts. Of the abundant options in the downtown district, The Wilder Restaurant and Bar is a fan favorite. The Wilder labels itself a “modern New England gastropub,” so you’ll find local seasonal items served up in warm, comforting combinations. Returning late? The Wilder has a late-night menu served until midnight on weekends.
