Don't forget to check Dry Comal Creek's event calendar or social media pages to see if they'll have food trucks on-site when you visit. As long as there are no food trucks on-site, outside food is welcome.

Head north on Farm to Market Road 3009 to Dry Comal Creek Winery & Vineyards, a winery dedicated to 100% Texas grapes and 100% Texas wines. Reserve a tasting in advance for a premium experience at Dry Comal Creek. You’ll get to sip on six of their Texas wines under a covered pavilion.

Established in 1868, Naegelin’s Bakery is the oldest bakery in the Lone Star State. This family-owned institution is your one-stop shop for delicious German baked goods. Fan favorites include strudel, kolaches, and the donut sandwich.

South of Interstate-10 is St. Mary’s Czech Catholic Church, one of the gems of the Painted Churches of Texas. This collection of churches was built by early German and Czech Texas settlers who painted their churches to remind them of the ornate European church styles. You won’t believe you’re in rural Texas once you step inside the walls of St. Mary’s sanctuary.
St. Mary's is open to the public when church events are not in session. It is recommended to call in advance to ensure you can experience their space in all its glory.
