    The second day of the route is one of the best. The so-called Route of the 7 Lakes, actually Route 40, zigzags between Villa La Angostura and San Martín de los Andes, with landscapes that are sure to stick in your memory. Seven lakes with their respective viewpoints await you on this scenic route: Espejo, Correntoso, Escondido, Villarino, Falkner, Machonico and Lacar. In addition, there are waterfalls, beaches and the surrounding mountains.

    The third day begins with an exploration of the shores of Lake Lacar, one of the most beautiful lakes in the region. Viewpoints and beaches with crystal clear water are its attractions. The route continues to explore the city of San Martín de los Andes, located on the shores of the same lake. Its architecture and location make it one of the most visited cities in Patagonia Argentina, and there will even be time to enjoy a cup of tea in one of the oldest tea shops in the region with a view! Afterwards, the first approach to the Lanin volcano from the viewpoint on the road. In Junín de los Andes, take the time to get to know two places that mix the aboriginal culture, represented by the Mapuches, with the catholic one.

    The Imposing Lanin Volcano and the Huechulafquen Lake

    On the last day you will visit one of the icons of the Argentinean Patagonia, more precisely of the Andes Mountains. The Lanin volcano is no longer active, but its silhouette with its cone always surrounded by snow can be seen many kilometres away. A low-difficulty trekking at the base of the volcano offers fabulous views of the mountains. After this activity, it is time to relax on the shores of Lake Huechulafquen before returning to Junín de los Andes.
