The Bracciano lake is of volcanic origin and on hot summer days the locals dive to cool off or enjoy the many possibilities to practice different sports such as diving, canoeing, sailing.
The blue of the lake contrasts with the green of the surrounding hills and with the brick-coloured roofs of the houses, as well as with the towers of the beautiful Castello Orsini-Odescalchi castle.
Visiting the lake so early in the morning will be an amazing experience!

A visit to the beautiful perched village of Nepi is a truly local experience! Not many tourists stop here, which is a real pity.
The history of this small town is intrinsically linked to its Rocca, whose oldest center has Etruscan-Roman origins.
Nepi in Etruscan means water. The waterfalls and rivers that you will see all around the town will make you immediately understand the reason for this nickname!
Nepi hides many beauties, but the most amazing is the Cavaterra waterfall.
The view of the the waterfall with the magnificence of the castle and the imposing walls behind it make us understand the historical importance of the village of Nepi.

Narni, a small village with more than 2000 years of history, inspired C.S. Lewis, who set here his quintessential fantasy novel, The Chronicles of Narnia. Lewis has never visited Narni, but as a good lover of Roman history, he embroidered on it a magical world that still today makes children and adults from all over the world dream!
A path in the basement of Narni to discover tunnels, graffiti, frescoes, cells where centuries ago the people under the Court of the Inquisition were imprisoned.
The guided tour thrills children and adults and takes you among hidden churches, an ancient cistern and, after a long corridor, to the famous "Hall of Torments".
Although the history of this place goes back a long time, its discovery is recent: six young speleologists found the entrance to the tunnels only in 1979, through a small passage hidden by a wall covered with rubble in an ancient Dominican convent. Doesn't it feel like a scene of the movie?

These waterfalls are incredible, and you will not believe your eyes: the falls are immersed in a fantastic landscape. Really, it doesn't feel like Italy anymore!
At 165 meters, these waterfalls are among the highest in Europe and the energy of the water here is incredible! These waterfalls are at a controlled flow: at certain times of the day, the water is diverted into penstocks for the production of hydroelectric energy.
My advice is to go to the Lower Belvedere, from which you can admire both falls. If you feel like it, a panoramic path will lead you to the Upper viewpoint, from which you will have a very nice and close view of the first water jump.

Leave your at this car park and head for a walk in an adorable city of Spoleto.

Spoleto is a wonderful small Umbrian town with a timeless charm.
The Duomo of Spoleto and the surrounding piazza are the most significant place. Sit on the stairs and watch the tourists and locals go by.
Although Spoleto is a very popular place, it does not lose its peaceful and pleasantly relaxed atmosphere.
This is just a small taste of Spoleto, but you will certainly want to come back to explore it better.

Foligno is rather small town, so it is better to leave your car at the car park in the outskirts of town centre.

Foligno is a small Umbrian town, immersed in an enchanting countryside.
The main square, Piazza della Repubblica, houses the Cathedral and very important buildings: Palazzo del Podestà, Palazzo dei Priori and Palazzo Trinci.
The latter is my favorite! Ancient noble residence, today it is a real museum thanks to the excellent state of conservation.
The staircase, the rooms, the decorations, the loggia, the chapel, the arches: the magnificence of this building permeates from every single detail.
Don't miss it!

The Medieval Fortress of Passignano sul Trasimeno is made up of ancient walls and some towers that have been partially destroyed by time.
The view of the lake is enchanting! On fine days you can see the other villages overlooking the lake, surrounded by the vegetation of this fascinating area.
A wonderful place to relax and observe the soft light of the afternoon sun.

Enjoy a dinner in this beautiful typical Tuscan restaurant, where you will find traditional Tuscan dishes, excellent ingredients and a relaxed and convivial atmosphere.
The setting of the restaurant is beautiful: a renovated old building, with frescoes and coffered ceilings.
Don't miss the gnocchi stuffed with pecorino cheese, and leave some room for dessert. My favourite? The chocolate platter!

She and her husband like to spend lots of time in this pleasant little town, in fact, she set the history of the book in Cortona! The film inspired by the book has been filmed mostly here.

Enjoy an evening stroll in the most beautiful and important square in Arezzo.
This square is wonderful both in the summer, when it is filled with people walking, perhaps with an ice cream, and in Christmas time, when the square is filled with stalls and the beautiful buildings are illuminated with the Big Light Show, the spectacular show of lights that lights up the square and dresses it for the party.
What better way to end a wonderful day!
