    Visiting the Republic of San Marino

    San Marino is an independent country and the fifth smallest in the World measuring 61 square kilometers. It is also the oldest republic in the World since 301 AD. It is definitely an interesting curiosity to visit. Even though there is no border with Italy and you don't need your passport, you can still take it with you if you want to get a stamp from San Marino in it, showing that you visited another country in the World. Today you will visit the Unesco Heritage listed Capital called Citta di San Marino.

    State Museum of San Marino

    The museum of the state is the best museum in San Marino. You will learn about the history and culture of San Marino. There is a very good display of art, furniture, archeological, numismatic and cultural objects.
    There are several museums to visit in San Marino, for example Saint Francis museum with paintings and sacred art, the stamp and coin museum, and you can buy a combined ticket for all of them if you want or for some of them.

    Liberty Square

    Guaita Tower

    The Guaita Tower is the first tower. From here you can do a little hike with amazing views from this first tower to the third tower. Guaita tower dates back from the 11th century, it is the oldest and the biggest tower of them all. You can walk around the fortifications.
