Welcome to the Rhine Fall experience. The thunderous River Rhine gushes at an astonishing rate of 600,000 litres per second during summer, creating Europe’s largest and most powerful waterfall. It may only be 23 metres (75.46 feet) tall, but this waterfall is an impressive sight.
There are various promenades and viewpoints which allow you to see the waterfall in all its glory, while Schloss Laufen is perched imperiously above it, completing the perfect scene. There is a ferry crossing from one bank to the other, and boat trips up to the falls are also available. If a boat trip does not entice you, simply walk across the Rheinbrücke bei Laufen to the other side and get an alternative view of the falls.

After venturing into the Black Forest, take some time at the Internationales Luftfahrt-Museum to discover local aviation history.
The impressive collection of aircraft, engines, and aviation artefacts covers both civil and military aviation. There are currently around 40 aircraft on display in the museum, including some that are still airworthy, with aircraft spanning the 20th century, from the 1917 Fokker DR-1 Triplane to the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. 🗓️ Check the opening hours before your visit. Arrive at the car park nestled in the woodland on the edge of Herrenberg, and get ready to stretch your legs as you climb the Schönbuchturm.

Upon first sight, you'll be impressed by the striking architecture of the Schönbuchturm. This observation tower stands at 35 metres tall (114.82 feet), with 348 steps and three levels at 10, 20, and 30 metres (33, 66, and 98 feet). From the top, you will be in an admirable position to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views of the Schönbuch Nature Park.
