Exploring the Magnificent Nature and Heritage in the Belgian Ardennes
The last day of this itinerary is where you will have a chance to visit the magnificent ruins of Orval Abbey. After your tour, enjoy some Trappist beer and cheese they are producing on site! Alongside that awesome local lunch spot in Bastogne (which I highly recommend), there's also plenty more adventures waiting for us on the way - including seeing the town of Bastogne, a strategic point of World War II.

Abbaye d'Orval
Imagine yourself in a time machine. Today, you travel back to the Middle Ages, when medieval monks lived and worked at the Orval abbey! The ruins of this old Cistercian Abbey offer an opportunity for discovery, walking among its architecture left behind centuries ago.
The visit tour includes the discovery of the Cistercian ruins, an interactive tour of the monastic history and the community. The abbey also offers a medicinal plants garden and a shop selling the famous Trappist beer, Orval and the cheese that are produced here.
Did you know that there are 14 abbeys around the world? Among these, 6 are located in Belgium. The country is known for producing authentic Trappist beers.
Opening hours vary seasonally, you can check them on the official website while planning a trip.
