Travel Itinerary and Road Trip Route

Day 1: From camel riding to getting to know Russian life.

The first stop is the Nomad Ethnopark in the open air. We will explore the life and traditions of nomadic peoples, get acquainted with camels and Mongolian yaks, taste Buryat buuses and Uzbek lagman. Afterwards we will walk around the picturesque Abramtsevo, where dozens of the most talented Russian artists and writers have created. Then we will move to the cozy Sergiev Posad, see the Trinity Sergiev Lavra from the height of the Pancake Mountain, look into the former monastery stables and finally finish our day with a culinary master class in an atmospheric kitchen shop.

Этнопарк «Кочевник»

We're heading for a real camel farm. We will ride on camels (there are 14 of them), get acquainted with Mongolian yaks, take a ride in a deer or dog sledding. We will have lunch in the yurt with dishes of nomadic peoples (bouzou, lagman, venison stew). We will drink Mongolian herbal tea with crispy kindling and, as it is supposed to the nomads, back on the road. Important: the Ethnopark is only open on weekends from 10:00 to 18:00. Payment on the territory of the park is made in cash.

Музей-заповедник «Абрамцево»

The same great Abramtsevo that we've been hearing since high school. Remember "The Girl with Peaches" by V.A. Serov and "Alyonushka" by V.M. Vasnetsov? The famous canvases were painted right here. We can walk around the estate by ourselves (except the main manor house) or choose one of the excursions with a creative master class for children from 3 years. Tickets to the main manor house can be purchased online. Important: Abramtsevo works daily except the last Thursday of each month. In winter months Monday and Tuesday are weekends.

Let's move to Sergiev Posad. Cakes for the kids, coffee for the parents. Sweet pause in our busy schedule today. Look at how many curious things are hidden in this cafe for lovers of physics!

Музейный комплекс «Конный двор»

This used to be a monastery stables. Now there is a museum, where valuable objects of the Holy Trinity Laura are collected. If you want, we can take a look at one of the expositions or admire the old cannons and bells outside. Important: the museum complex is not open on Monday and Tuesday.

Смотровая площадка

How about a leisurely stroll through Sergiev Posad? Let's climb the Pancake Mountain or, as the Sergians say, "Pancake." The neighborhood used to be famous for its pancakes. You can imagine, enjoying local pancakes was as important as worshipping the relics of Sergius of Radonezh! Alas, it's not possible to eat now, but to admire the Trinity Sergius Lavra in all its beauty is easy.

Сергиевская кухмистерская

There's a very special museum waiting for us. Are you ready? Let's get acquainted with the old kitchen appliances and try them in a master class on cooking of fragrant Landrin lollipops. Afterwards we will move to a cafe where we will taste dishes of Russian cuisine cooked according to recipes of the 19th-20th centuries. We'll finish our meal with a tasting of tea from a bubbly samovar. Important: preliminary booking of excursion and a table in cafe is possible by phone number specified on an official site of Sergievsky kitchen workshop.

Day 2: Trinity-Sergius Lavra and Amusement Park X-Land

We will visit UNESCO's heritage - the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. We will walk along the most beautiful complex of fifty architectural creations. After that we will actively spend time, choosing entertainment to your liking in the park X-Land.

Вареничная #9

In this place you will find dishes that our children are so used to (eggs, porridges, pancakes with different toppings). And, of course, dumplings with the most diverse and unusual fillings, cooked classically, in an oven, in a pan and steam.

The Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra (Троице-Сергиева лавра)

Let us touch the history of one of the most important Russian shrines, founded in the 14th century by Sergiy Radonezhsky. We will see the largest operating bell in Russia, weighing 72 tons "Tsar Bell", and one of the oldest bells - "Swan", which in the 16th century gave the monastery Boris Godunov. We can walk along the laurel by ourselves or order a tour in the Pilgrimage Centre. Children can take part in one master class on pottery or painting and stained glass production.

Paintball club "Rubezh"

Next, for a change, extreme and fun.

Ильинские холмы

Lunch in an atmospheric restaurant away from the noisy tracks.

Спасо-Влахернский монастырь

Before returning to Moscow - a walk near a picturesque monastery.

Gazpromneft filling station #312

There's a gas station coming up. If you are tired, make a comfortable stop - come for a coffee!

Ресторан Мореман в яхт-клубе Аврора

We'll have dinner on the bank of the Klyazma River, at the Moreman restaurant. European cuisine, excellent seafood, pleasant interiors and a view on yachts and boats - for a while you even forget that you are in the Moscow region!
