Beautiful Trulli Villages in the Valley

Villa Comunale is a park with great views of the Valley of Itria.
You can park your car here and go explore the town of Locorotondo on foot.
Across the park is the entrance to the pedestrian historical center of Locorotondo. It is rated as one of the most beautiful villages of Italy. Walk around the small streets covered in white stones with a church in the center.

After a lovely drive in the valley, park your car and go explore the village of Martina Franca on foot.

You will enter the historical center of Martina Franca through the arch "Arco di Sant'Antonio" and you will arrive in the Piazza Roma in front of Palazzo Ducale. It is definitely worth going inside to admire the beautifully painted roofs.

Then walk through the Corso Vittorio Emanuele to reach Basilica di San Martino with a statue of San Martín inside. The church dates back from the 18th century.

Have lunch at this good and authentic restaurant right next to the church. In Martina Franca, the local specialty is the "coppa" which is a delicious cold cut and you can have it with stracciatella which is a kind of mozzarella with cream.

You can park here to explore Cisternino on foot.

Walk around the historical center of Cisternino. It has been designated as one of the most beautiful villages of Italy. Located on a hilltop with whitewashed houses, it has such a pleasant atmosphere. In the center, you will find the main church with a tower.

You can park here to explore Ostuni on foot.

Ostuni is a beautiful white town, it looks like a village in the Cyclades in Greece.
This museum is located in a convent. It is worth checking out the church inside but also the archeological exhibits. The most famous piece is a 25,000 years old expectant mother mummified.
Opening hours of the museum tend to change quite a lot. It is better to check their website at the time of visit.

The cathedral of Ostuni was built in the 15th century. The pink façade looks beautiful especially with the sun going down. It is definitely worth stepping inside to see the altar and the painted ceilings from the 18th century.

Have dinner at this very nice osteria with classic dishes from the region with local wines. Seafood is a great choice.
