- Enjoy the view from every angle at the peak that hosts Bled Castle.
- Paddle your own boat to the island in the middle of the wonderful Lake Bled.
- Walk the path along the spectacular and colourful Vintgar Gorge.
If you've spent any time researching Slovenia, you would have seen and heard of Lake Bled. But visiting it is a much different experience than seeing photos. This two-day route helps you make the most of your visit by including all the best experiences the region has to offer. You'll go for a hike through the trees until you reach a spectacular Lake Bled lookout, enjoy a sunset over the lake, visit the spectacular Bled Castle at the top of the mountain and take a boat trip to the island in the middle of the Lake.
There are many wonderful restaurants around Lake Bled, and this route mixes traditional Slovenian with high-class dining experiences to balance the more authentic with the finer side of things. After Lake Bled, you'll travel slightly north to discover one of the most gorgeous natural sights I've ever had the privilege of visiting. Soteska Vintgar is a historical natural gorge with turquoise mountain water and rocky cliffs. You'll get to take a walk along the gorge and find waterfalls and hidden gems along the way, before visiting a historical ruined castle on the way back to Ljubljana.
