Across the Mountains to Route 66
Nestled in the San Juan mountains, day one starts in the small silver mining town of Durango, Colorado. The road trip route continues south through New Mexico and across the Navajo Nation with stops in Farmington and Gallup, New Mexico while visiting a couple of national park sites along the way.
The route is mostly secondary roads and there's a quick stop to charge the vehicle since the route is approximately 165 miles one way between Durango and Gallup to allow for any extra stops.
Remember to wear comfortable shoes for the walking and outdoor activities.
