To visit the bison and ostriches

Our journey will begin with a visit to a bison nursery in Prioksko-Terrasny reserve. The travel time from Moscow will be about one and a half hours.

Here we have reached our first stop - the bison nursery. It is located on the territory of Prioksko-Terrasny Nature Reserve.
The main attraction of the reserve is the bison, a contemporary of the mammoth, which has recently been on the verge of extinction. As of today, more than 600 thoroughbred bison have been born in the nursery.
During the 3-hour excursion you will walk through the eco-trail "Through the foliage", visit the central nursery of bison and be able to observe the bison and bison in conditions as close to natural as possible. You will also learn the fascinating story of rescuing the "king of bulls" from extinction, and you will be offered to participate in the "Adopt a Bison" foster care programme.

After an amazing acquaintance with the "king of bulls" I suggest you to have lunch in a cafe located on the territory of the reserve.
The menu features Russian cuisine, and I advise you to pay attention to handmade dumplings and vareniki. And the prices will pleasantly surprise you!

In the afternoon we move to the Museum of Nature, where there is an interesting exposition, which brightly and visually tells about the flora and fauna of Moscow region. The exhibits include a wild boar, an elk, a European beaver, local bird species and a collection of insects.

Next stop is a farm with an unusual name "Russian ostrich".
The main feature of the farm is African black ostrich - the largest bird in the world and a contemporary of the dinosaur. During the excursion you will learn everything about peculiarities of ostriches, feed birds and if you are lucky you will take part in setting ostrich eggs in the incubator!
You can visit the farm every day except Mondays. It is better to book in advance, you can do it by phone at website.

After visiting the farm, I suggest taking a short walk near the ponds, which offers a beautiful view of the church, built in 1627.

We will finish our journey with dinner in a restaurant located on the shore of a picturesque pond, surrounded by greenery and wildlife!
The restaurant specializes in a unique gastronomic concept - the menu offers the freshest fish from the morning catch. Observe the delicious trout, pearl cutlets and sparkling sterlet.
