The Pearls of Zvenigorod

Let's begin our journey with a visit to the museum-reserve in Bolshiye Vyazemy.
Earlier this estate belonged to the Princes Golitsyn. At the sightseeing tour of this place you can learn a lot of interesting things. For example, you can read about Natalia Petrovna Golitsina, who was a prototype of the old princess in the story "Queen of spades" to Alexander Pushkin. If you want to diversify your usual walk, you can rent a boat at the pond.

Little Pushkin spent every summer at his grandmother M.A. Hannibal in the village of Zakharovo. In the preserved house and in the park there are guided tours.

Next stop is the colorful Zvenigorod. Here there is a wonderful museum of Russian dessert. After viewing the exposition, you can attend various master classes, where you will be offered to paint gingerbread with glaze, cook baranki, bake pies or bread. Everything ends with a traditional Russian tea party from a huge samovar.

The Savvin Storozhevsky monastery is an ancient pearl of Zvenigorod. Built in the XIV century, it was a country residence of Russian tsars for a long time.
There are gold embroideries, decorated with river pearls, which were made personally by Maria Miloslavskaya, the first wife of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich.
In the refectory you can buy freshly baked monastery bread and the legendary kvass insisted on raisins.
It is quite crowded, as after the restoration this place became attractive not only for pilgrims, but also for ordinary tourists.

In the restaurant "Villagio" you can taste dishes of Russian, European, Italian and Japanese cuisine, listen to live music and spend the rest of the evening with pleasure.
