Day of History and Culture

The day begins with a visit to the ethnographic park. On its territory you will see the monuments of wooden architecture of the XVI-XX centuries: huts, churches, chapels and mills. You'll visit a peasant's hut where you'll see the interior decoration and get acquainted with the life of Novgorod peasants.
Various entertainment events and master classes are held in the park.

There is an interesting museum in the park with a large collection of irons from various times, collected from all over the world. Here you will learn the history of the iron and how people used to iron their clothes.

Here you will see a lot of different exhibits dedicated to cinema: vintage cinema equipment, film cameras, film projectors, photos, documents, tickets, editing tables and many other interesting things!

After a full cultural programme in the first half of the day it was time to have lunch at the cafe. The cafe offers a varied menu with salads, appetizers, soups, hot dishes and desserts.

Gatchina Palace dates back to the 18th century. You will see the palace's luxurious decorations by visiting its several halls: the Anteroom, the Tower Study, the White Room, the rooms of the family of Emperor Alexander III, the Crimson Drawing Room, the Marble Dining Room, the Oval Boudoir, the Private Dormitory, the Throne Room of Paul I.
Opening hours: the palace is open until 6 p.m.
Monday is a day off.

There is a landscape park at the palace, where you can take a leisurely stroll and see its sights. On the grounds you can see the Humped Bridge, the Turkish Tent, the Birch Cabin, the amphitheatre with four aisles, the Eagle Column, the pier terrace on the Long Island, and the forest greenhouse.

Dinner will be held in a clock-themed café. The menu features European and Asian cuisine. Appetizers, soups, hot dishes, meat and fish dishes, sushi and rolls, pastries, desserts.
Everyone can find a dish to his/her liking!
