Travel Itinerary and Road Trip Route

Day 1: Fabulous garden and first day of the festival

There you are in Charleston! There's still time before the Balloon Festival, and we suggest you spend it in the amazing scenic garden.

Mellow Mushroom

Eclectic interiors and tasty pizza and pasta. You can even create your own pizza by selecting the ingredients.

Middleton Place

Just twenty-five kilometers from Charleston Airport is an ancient mansion surrounded by an amazingly beautiful garden. The views here are simply stunning, as if you were in the locations of a cartoon about princesses. If you are traveling with children, they will definitely be thrilled to see the locals: sheep, horses and piglets. And in the workshops you can watch the ancient methods of making fabrics and earthenware.

Balloon Festival is held in the park on the city embankment. Don't forget to buy tickets to the event in advance and enjoy live music, local seafood, fashion shows, sports competitions and flights in colorful balloons.

Day 2: Upstairs!

Fun continues! Almost the whole day will be held in the atmosphere of the holiday on the city's seafront, and in case you want to get to know the local cuisine, we have added a few decent restaurants to the itinerary of the day.

Callie's Hot Little Biscuit

If you are more used to having breakfast not at the food court but in a quiet and cozy cafe, we recommend you to visit Callie's Hot Little Biscuit. It is a great option for breakfast, a large selection of fresh baked goods and a very hospitable atmosphere.

Spend the day at the event! There's plenty to do for everyone: you can meet professional polo players, and if you like, ride your own horse. Try the unusual food and drinks that are offered in the food courts. For a truly unforgettable day ride a balloon or a helicopter!

McCrady's

Yes, you can also have dinner on the waterfront, but if you want to spend an evening in a romantic setting and taste the real delights of local cuisine, you should go to McCrady's. According to critics, it's one of the best restaurants in the state. The portions are very small, because the aim of the restaurant guests is not saturation, but acquaintance with new shades of modern American cuisine and immersion in the peaceful atmosphere of the place.

Day 3: South Carolina Aquarium

The journey is coming to an end and before heading to the airport we suggest you to visit another interesting attraction - the local aquarium and sea turtle rehabilitation centre.

Another Broken Egg Cafe

Just next to the old town market there is a great place for breakfast. The name makes it easy to guess which main ingredient is on the local menu. It also serves delicious waffles and pancakes.

South Carolina Aquarium

In the Charleston Aquarium, you can see hundreds of unusual species. Here you will learn interesting facts about fish, birds, reptiles and mammals that live in the area.
