The Anaga Protected Nature Area is a place unique in its climatic features and vegetation.
It is located in the north-east of Tenerife and occupies almost a tenth of the area of the island. Its highest point is Pico Cruz de Taborno, the height of which is over a thousand meters.
A chain of mountains is cut by numerous gorges and winding slopes leading to the foot of the mountains with small natural beaches covered with black volcanic sand. Many of them can be reached only by boat, or through the gorge.
