We have a short trip to the nearest Moscow region. Despite the improving infrastructure, these cities manage to preserve their historical uniqueness. In the next two days we will see pre-revolutionary wooden buildings of Kashira, coziness of Zaraisk and art space of Kolomna.
Today our day will begin with the manor of Princes Golitsyn. It turned out that in 6 kilometers from Podolsk is hiding a real architectural treasure. In the afternoon we'll meet ancient Kashira. The city is big enough and with closer contact, surprising. Dinner is planned for the evening at one of the few restaurants in Zaraisk.
Because of its proximity to Moscow, the place is quite touristy. Leave your car a little further away from the main entrance, near industrial buildings, painted with graffiti. Our journey begins with the Temple of the Sign of the Most Holy Mother of God. The Mysterious Temple. It's hard to believe it's Orthodox. During the construction it took the workers 15 years only to carve stone, but what the result!
Cozily settled down on the summer veranda, watching the life of the city of Chekhov. Facility's strict, laconic interior and varied menu: from beer snacks to Siciliano salmon under creamy mushroom sauce with shrimps.
Destroying romanticism and classicism. The silhouette of the manor hides behind a bush and a small forest is formed inside. Walking under ancient arches, listening to the sounds of the environment.
Intelligent city of Kashira for lovers of architecture. Pre-revolutionary development and graffiti on "new" houses. Constructivism and two-storey freshly painted wooden houses with TV plates. Pleasant city for a leisurely stroll.
The opposite bank of the Oka River adorns the monastery, which from afar resembles a fortress. Indeed, the military defense function of the building was performed many centuries ago. It was also a prison for prisoners, whose hands were used to build the bridge across the river. Now the Empire and the Moscow Baroque complement each other beautifully. On the territory there are neat benches, broken flower beds and peace. Officials ask to refrain from taking pictures.
At the same time it is an observation deck. Alas, we did not have time to climb it and explore the city, as the entrance for visitors closes at four o'clock in the afternoon. But it looks cute outside too. The square next to it is clean, ennobled, you can sit, relax on a bench.
Isn't it time to stop on vacation? You can warm up, fill up and buy goods on the way at Gazpromneft's filling stations.
A cafe in the heart of Zaraisk. It's a wonderful place to sit by the window, peeping out of town. Desserts surprised.
The morning walk in the Kremlin of Zaraisk and the city outskirts will be replaced by a walk in the Kolomna Kremlin. Kolomna will also give us a chance to visit a real communal apartment art museum. In the evening we will have dinner at a restaurant on the banks of the Moskva River.
Feel the coziness of a small old town wandering around the Kremlin. The historical quarter of Zaraisk has been preserved almost in its original form. However, the trees on the rooftops of former industrial enterprises outside the center also look very nice. Be careful when planning your trip, the Kremlin is closed on Monday and Tuesday.
Start your morning with a walk in the Kolomna Kremlin, absorbing the scents and atmosphere of the old days. Before us is a real monument of defensive architecture, built by Italian masters. By the way, the size of this Kremlin is not inferior to the Moscow Kremlin. Tired, you can walk to the museum of pastel, having bought sweets on the way.
Tiny pizza place. Cooking in front of you. It's fast enough and delicious enough. Pleasant lighting, large windows.
A communal apartment in the past. A tribute to Venedikt Erofeev, who once worked here as a loader. Part of the exhibition is dedicated to Soviet life: Indian tea with elephant, perfume "Red Moscow", other attributes. You can return to the real world by using the door of the magic cabinet. An interesting idea of the organizers: one of the artists who won an international competition and received the right to live and create in this art space is responsible for contemporary art here.
On the bank of the Moskva River our short journey ends. Wrapped in a plaid on a summer terrace, we contemplate and wait for the order. Democrat prices, the menu is quite extensive. Well, we should get back to town and rent out the car.
