As you begin your route in the gorgeous city of Bergen, you will find your self surrounded by amazing nature in this enchanted place.
Bergen is considered the city surrounded by 7 mountains and also the heart of the fjords. Today's journey will take you deep into the heart of Norway to explore its rich history.

The first stop on this rich cultural experience is an amazing point of interest is the famous St Olav's Cross.
This fascinating piece of archeology dates back to1023 AD! There is much rich history surrounding St. Olav since he was the king of Norway from 1015 to 1028 AD.

Continuing onward, you will come across a magnificent work of nature called Vøringfossen. This immense waterfall will leave you speechless as you gaze upon the depth and strength of this incredible feat of nature.
This is one of the many magnificent waterfalls here in Norway. There is easy parking all around and many viewing points. The waterfall is 180 meters high!

Now you have arrived at the much anticipated Hol Bygdemuseum. This, very old yet extremely well-preserved museum, dates back all the way to 1914.
The museum is designed as a farm dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. The museum consists of seventeen buildings, together with an exhibition featuring the distinct style of Rosemaling typical of Hallingdal. The museum also features local traditional dress.

After that fantastic adventure back in time, it is now time to grab some lunch at Lægreid Høyfjellsseter.
This quaint little restaurant is conveniently nearby, so you can just head over without having to drive for too long and grab a tasty bite to eat before you hit the road again. They have very delicious food here, well-made and traditional.

As you continue on your journey back to Bergen, you can stop at this little bar for some refreshments after all that driving. Thai baum verkstad is the perfect place for a pit stop since they are open late and can accommodate you as you please during your brief stop here.

As you almost reach your final destination, there is one more stop to see a gorgeous waterfall at night. The beauty behind Mørkhølsfossen is that you can actually walk behind the waterfall on a small sidewalk with handles for safety and even though it will be dark it is still a magical experience.

You have finally made it back to Bergen after that amazing day trip out to Hol Bygdemuseum.
