Aberaeron, Llanerchaeron and Traeth Mwnt

After a dreamy (and glamorous) night's sleep at Maerdy Farm Cottage, you'll travel north to the colourful Georgian harbour town of Aberaeron. You can leave your car here at the Harbour Carpark for a couple of hours while you enjoy a scrumptious brekkie and venture out to Aberaeron Beach.

The third and final day of your Pembrokeshire adventure will begin with breakfast at Aberaeron's The Hive. Situated on the harbour edge, this modern and relaxed restaurant boasts a delicious breakfast menu (served daily from 9:30m - 11:30am). After breakfast, take a morning stroll along Aberaeron Beach, taking in the fresh sea air. Aberaeron Beach is a rock and shingle beach just to the south of the town and harbour, boasting spectacular views of the rugged Pembrokeshire coastline. A favourite spot for experienced surfers and bodyboarders, it's also said to be a good place to view the bay’s porpoise population at sea on warm days, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled!

The National Trust's Llanerchaeron Estate comprises of an elegant Georgian villa, designed by architect John Nash in 1790. Here, you'll also find a tranquil, picture perfect walled garden, farmyard lake and wild parkland – all of which have remained largely unaltered for over 200 years. Spend the afternoon exploring the stunning grounds of the traditional Welsh gentry estate, wandering through the walled garden and stopping for an obligatory cup of tea and slice of cake from the on-site cafe, Conti. Complete the afternoon with a visit to Traeth Mwnt, a gorgeous hidden cove on the Ceredigion coast, just a few miles north of Cardigan town centre. You can leave your car at the Mwnt Beach Car Park, which is located a short walk away from the beach itself.

On your way down to the beach, be sure to pop by Caban Mwnt for an ice cream. This lovely little kiosk overlooking the beach also offers a variety of teas, coffees, homemade cakes, toasties and sandwiches. Traeth Mwnt is a beautiful secluded bay owned by the National Trust. As a haven for wildlife, it's one of the best places in Ceredigion to spot dolphins, and it's often a popular spot for family days out on the beach. On glorious sunny days, locals and tourists alike flock to Mwnt to enjoy the beauty and serenity of this hidden cove’s golden sand and rolling waves.

Before heading back to Cardiff, enjoy an evening meal at the Copper Pot, Cardigan. This cosy, family-run business serves tasty, freshly made food, great coffee and amazing cocktails.
