Construction of the tunnel began in the mid-nineteenth century. It was planned to simplify railway traffic. However, the project turned out to be too expensive and was suspended. Today, the tunnel serves as a place for excursions and photo shoots, and the mossy walls make it look like a cave from a fantasy film.
