Cascada del Río Poqueira
Open Details
The first stop of the day is a visit to a waterfall (cascada del río Poqueira o cascada de Pampaneira). If the day permits you can take a bath there.
There are two options to get to the waterfall. One is by car. In this case you have to drive to the nearby village of Bubion and park the car where you see space. It is a very small village where there is usually room to park. From there, walk until you find the brown sign indicating the path to the waterfall. You can ask at any hotel or at the town hall if you can't find it.
The other option is to walk from Pampaneira. Just follow the course of the river Poqueiras. You will cross a bridge and after a few more metres you will arrive at the waterfall. The walk can take less than an hour. You can see the route in wikiloc.
These paths are usually signposted but it is not always easy to find the starting signs. It is therefore advisable to check with the people who live there or the people who work in the hotels.
