Ardales, Ancient Caves, Arcos de la Frontera

Venture into the depths of the earth from 2.5 million years ago as you descend into the past on an official guided tour to the Cave of Ardales.
An underground geological landscape that has remained unchanged for the last 30,000 years, the cave was discovered in 1821 after an earthquake opened access to the cave, previously sealed for over 8,000 years!
You will see paintings, relics, engravings, lakes and columns as well as incredible stalactite and stalagmite formations.
There is a flier with English language explanations at the entrance of the cave. Your guide may speak little English.

Free Parking is available in this lot. Alternately, there is often ample street parking in and around the village of Ardales.

At this interpretive center that is a combined ticket with the caves, you'll learn more about the history of this region as well as many objects found in the cave system and in the surrounding area.
The staff is very helpful and patient. Information is presented in both Spanish and English.
There are also special interactive exhibits geared towards kids.

The speciality of the house is mixed tapas with interesting offers such as "cod with honey" and "quail toast".

Retrieve your car and continue to Arcos de la Frontera.

Park here for access to the village. From here you will walk to your hotel for the night.
