    This former battleground is the site where many confederate and union soldiers lost their lives during the Civil War.
    In September 1864, this peaceful valley saw a bloody battle of more than 8,000 men. Learn more about this hard-fought war with your walk around the area and perhaps a peek in the visitor center.
