Leaving Texas for the Relaxing Waters of Hot Springs

This museum in Greenville, Texas packs a one-two punch of memorabilia around one of Texas's beloved sons, Audie Murphy, and cotton, which was a huge crop for East Texas. We suggest sticking to the part about Murphy and the military in the time allotted — this is his hometown and they have tons of artifacts from his time as a WWII hero, and a few from his career as an actor.

Now that you're properly relaxed take a stroll on the Grand Promenade behind Bathhouse Row. This half-mile brick trail offers a look on foot at the town's center and is modeled after the Prado in Havana.

You can also walk right to your dinner reservation. Vault is a remodeled 1990s bank, turned into a unique dining experience. Don't miss the ricotta canape and the grilled Harissa chicken entre.

Vault is closed on Sunday and Monday. It is open for dinner services Tuesday through Thursday from 4:30pm to 9pm and on Friday and Saturday until 10pm.
