About the mineral waters and nature of the Caucasus

On the way to Essentuki, see the pretty chapel of Matrona of Moscow.

The first point of our trip will be the Local History Museum. Here you will learn about how a small village became a famous health resort, see the most beautiful furniture with ivory inlays.
The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00.

Leave your car and go for a leisurely stroll to the city's most famous park - the Resort Park.
On the approaches to the park you will be greeted by a beautiful fountain, a summer theater and a small touching monument "Kilometer Zero of Love" (the favorite place of all lovers).

Behind the theater building there is a pavilion of the spring #17. This is the first stone building built to treat the healing mineral waters of Yessentuki. Be sure to stop by and taste the local water.
Please note - the water in the springs is medicinal, not canteen water, so do not drink a lot if you are not sure of your body's reaction.
It is considered that you should drink not more than 250 ml of such water a day. On the spot you will be offered to buy a glass (be sure to keep it, you will need it for tasting water in other pavilions).
It is more useful to take mineral water before meals (15-90 minutes), so all pavilions with springs work in strictly defined time (from 7:30 to 9:30, from 11:30 to 14:30 and from 16:30 to 19:00).

Pass the main gate and enter the Spa Park itself. Drinking galleries, boarding houses and other medical facilities, decorative gazebos, grottos, fountains and beautiful colonnades are gathered here.
Admire the openwork musical pavilion, where the warm summer evenings playing brass band, go to the temple of Saint Panteleimon and certainly taste the mineral water Yessentuki № 4 in the Source № 4. Here it is slightly less salty than in the Source №17.
Note - the mineral water from the springs is curative, so if you are not sure about the reaction of your body - take the water in small amounts (no more than 200 ml).
The springs are open in strictly defined time (from 07:30 to 09:30, from 11:30 to 14:30 and from 16:30 to 19:00).

Walk through the park and you will see the building of Semashko mud cure clinic.
For treatment here use a unique composition of silt mud, which is brought from Lake Tambukan (to date, this mud is recognized as one of the most useful in the world). To undergo any procedures in the clinic you must have an appointment with the attending doctor, have a sanatorium card and pass the appropriate tests.
But today we are admiring the hospital building from the outside.
By the way, this building at different times visited Stanislavsky, Chaliapin, Kuprin, Yesenin, Trotsky, Voroshilov, Lunacharsky, Krupskaya and Utesov.

On the way to the restaurant for lunch, you can stop by the drinking gallery of spring #4 and drink some mineral water. It's especially good for you before lunch!
The gallery is open from 07:30 to 09:30, from 11:30 to 14:30 and from 16:30 to 19:00.

You can have lunch in a Georgian restaurant. There are delicious meat dishes, salads and, of course, khachapuri. Try it for sure.

On your way out of town, look for the Rio De Causa complex, named for its resemblance to the famous statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro.
A 22-meter statue of white marble forms the meaningful center of the complex. Jesus' hand is turned towards the Caucasus mountain range in a baptismal gesture; according to the creators' idea, the savior thus blesses the entire Caucasus.
From the observation deck of the complex you can see Elbrus - the highest peak of the Caucasus.

The monastery is located on a hill, which offers breathtaking views of the Caucasus and its highest peaks, as well as Yessentuki.
Svyato-Georgievsky monastery is the only female monastery in Yessentuki. It is very pleasant to walk on its well-groomed territory, and in a monastery shop you can buy delicious cheese, honey and herbal teas (for purchases be sure to have cash).

In this museum you will learn about the composition and properties of mineral water, get acquainted with the local flora and fauna, feel all the smells and sounds of nature Caucasus and even look into the microscope of time.
The museum is open until 18:00.

Today you have already tasted the famous Yessentuki mineral water, and now it's time to try Narzan. This can be done in the Narzanaya Gallery, whose bureaus contain mineral water that differs both in taste and in its effect on the body.
What water you should drink, you will be advised by a doctor, free of charge consultations in the gallery. If you don't have a doctor, you can refer to the treatment schemes on the walls.
The gallery is open to visitors every day at the following times: 07:00 - 09:00, 11:00 - 14:00, 16:00 - 19:00.

Next to the Narzanaya Gallery there is the Lermontov Square. There is a bas-relief depicting the great poet and a monument to one of the main characters of his works - Demon.

And then you will meet another famous Russian poet. Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin twice visited the Caucasian Mineral Waters and, of course, visited Kislovodsk.

On a warm summer evening it is nice to dine outdoors, and the "Stary Park" cafe provides this opportunity.
The café serves delicious khachapuri and Ossetian pies.
