    Start the day by stopping at Agricola Giansanti Di Muzio, one of the Parmigiano Reggiano producers in Parma. Whether you are a foodie, cheese lover, or just enjoy learning about local culture, a tour of the parmesan factory is a sensory experience where you will follow the production cycle from making the world-famous cheese from milk to the aging process.
    And of course, the tour ends with a tasting of different aged parmesan cheeses and balsamic vinegar. It is hard to argue that this is the absolute highlight of the tour.

    Cattedrale di Parma

    After fueling up with food and drinks, head to the spectacular Parma Cathedral. The Roman Catholic basilica is dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
    While the outside seems fairly regular, you will meet an enthralling art scene inside with vibrant frescos covering the ceiling and walls with stories from the old testament and Christ's life.

    Right next to the cathedral you find the Diocesan Museum where you can see a collection of statues, artifacts, and mosaics showing the history of how Christianity spread in Parma.

    Baptistery of Parma

    As one of Europe's most important medieval monuments, the Baptistery of Parma is a natural next stop. The interior is, like the cathedral, covered in 13th and 14th-century colorful frescos depicting religious happenings. It is also recognized by the pink marble from Verona covering the structure.

    Governor's Palace

    Take a stroll across Piazza Garibaldi, one of the most important squares in Parma, dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi who was an important person in the unification of Italy. A statue of him stands on the square.
    Besides that, you can see Palazzo del Governatore and the Church of Saint Paul the Apostle on the square.
    The square has a handful of cafes where you can sit down for a drink and people-watch before dinner.

    Ristorante Pizzeria Orfeo Parma

    Head for dinner at Ristorante Pizzeria Orfeo Parma, which according to the locals might just have some of the best pizzas in the city. However, if you fancy something other than pizza, they have a varied menu to choose from.

    After dinner, go for a walk, lose yourself in the enchanting streets, and stop for gelato or a drink or two anywhere you would like to before heading back to the hotel.
    Opening hours for dinner: Monday-Saturday 19:00-22:30.
    Note that Sundays are closed. If you happen to be there on a Sunday, head to Trattoria Corrieri which has mouthwatering pasta and an epic risotto alla parmigiana! They are open from 12:00-23:45 Wednesday-Monday and closed on Tuesdays. You can have a look at their website here.
