Meshchera - the land of pristine nature

Meshchera National Park is an area of 110,000 hectares. Tourist sites are scattered throughout this area dozens of kilometers from each other. Let's try to conquer at least a small part of the reserve by exploring three ecological trails.

After breakfast we go to the supermarket. There are not many cafes in the reserve, so it's better to take food and drinks with you. And there are plenty of places for a picnic in Meshchera!

The first thing I suggest is to conquer the route "Journey to the world of the Meshchera bogs". It starts deep in the forest, in the village of Yagodino, and goes along the river Paul, through flood meadows and picturesque woodland, to the observation points of Sergeev bog. Along the trail are information boards that explain what grows here and who lives here.
The trail is about 5 km long. The trail will take about 1.5-2 hours. Add another hour for a leisurely picnic in the clearing.

After lunch, we head to the village of Erleks. Here, along the picturesque bank of the river Paul once ran a trade route that connected Vladimir and Ryazan. Now there is an ecological trail "Journey along the ancient Ryazan tract".
Along the trail you will come across a dozen and a half curious objects, both natural and man-made. Among them are the remains of the old bridge over the river Paul. At the end of the trail you can drink tea at the equipped parking lot. The trail is 1.5 km long.
And do not be lazy to walk to the Holy Trinity Church in Erleksa. This is, by the way, part of another short eco-trail.

For dinner I suggest stopping by the Maltov Restaurant. The menu includes solyanka, fragrant borscht and ruddy pancakes, the interior has massive wooden furniture and pleasant music in the background. What else does a tired traveler need?

After such a busy day of hiking, we should rest so that we have enough energy for tomorrow's achievements. And we will go in the direction of ancient Kasimov, a city with an interesting history and unusual traditions.
