The other name of this building is the Church of St. Engracia. You've probably heard the saying "the work of St. Engracia". It appeared as a result of the fact that after the construction of the church in the XVII century, the church was constantly rebuilt, which lasted for a very long time. However, when the church was crowned with a dome, it was ceremonially opened. Many politicians and writers were buried here, and numerous cenotaphs in honor of famous Portuguese navigators were built.

This is the highest point of the city (174 meters above sea level), from which you can see the most famous sights of the city: the Tower of Belém, Lisbon Cathedral, the Bridge on April 25, Christ the King (with outstretched arms in the manner of a cross).

Dine near the bridge on April 25th with a view of the harbour and the opposite side of the city, where you can see the colossal statue of Christ the King with his hands stretched out to the sides like a cross. Don't forget to reserve a table to make sure you get a table by the window.
