Ruins and Nature

The factory settlement in Krasnoye Selo cannot be called an abandoned village in the Leningrad region, as it has never been an independent territorial unit. But it is one of the interesting atmospheric places that is easy to get to.
Today, the factory village looks more like an American made-up town of Silent Hill in miniature. Not a single window remains, in some places the ceilings are destroyed, and in some places you can see traces of fires.

The building itself was erected in the late 18th century. At first it was the mansion of the owner of a paper mill, but then it was converted into a palace for the emperor. After the revolution, no one dealt with the building, it was turned into an ordinary apartment building, which has been slightly modernized by adding a third floor and rebuilding the stables.
The former residence of Alexander I began to crumble in the late 60s. Today in its place are only ruins.

Now, on the site of the ancient Novgorod settlement stands the estate of the artist, writer and philosopher - Nikolai Konstantinovich Roerich. The adjacent park has the status of a natural monument, there is a system of non-freezing spring lakes, the Alley of Love, the source of the river Izvarka and other natural and landscape objects, which make this place so romantic and atmospheric.
Museum tours are held according to a schedule: 12:00, 14:00, 16:00
The museum is open throughout the year from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weekends are Monday and Tuesday. The sanitary day is the last Wednesday of each month.

This one-domed stone church was built in the style of classicism. Later a two-tiered bell tower was added to it. The church heroically survived the wars and destruction, and this is its fifth building.
Be sure to walk to the almost abandoned quarry, which is located nearby. In it you will find six extinct kilns where limestone was mined.
The landscape is equally beautiful and mysterious in all seasons.
