You can make a cup of coffee at home and go for a walk around Civita with it while there's nobody there! Incredible experience! Cafes open in the morning for you to have a nice breakfast in the street.

We stayed close to the Re di Roma square. There's a good parking garage where you can park your car for a couple of days to walk around Rome on foot. It's much more convenient than driving. And you cannot drive in the historical centre.
But still, you always can take your car back and drive outside of the city if you want. We did it for some shopping in the malls close to the FCO airport when our legs were dying after about 30km of strolls in the city.

We stayed at the Gate 40 guesthouse – a small serviced apartment with a few rooms. Well, it was very nice and clean. Location was also good as we could reach Colosseum on foot. The only thing I didn't like was the noise of the street. The apartment is on the second floor and the road is busy late in the night.

On your way to the Colosseum, visit this popular sandwich bar if you are hungry.

We didn't go inside, but walked around the most famous landmark of Rome or possibly of the whole worlds.

Then we continued our way into the central part of Rome.

Enormous building on the gorgeous Square of Venice– one of the main hubs of Rome.

You can get inside and up the roof of this magnificent structure to have a panoramic view of Rome.

Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the ancient city where all the nationalities meet in a great adventure of discovery!

Time to taste the famous Italian ice-cream!

You can cross the river via the beautiful bridge of Saint Angel leading directly to the Castel Sant'Angelo. Or you can choose another bridge a bit to the east to have an even better view of all the sight, including the dome of St. Peter's Basilica.

In the evening, the square is far less crowded and the illumination is very beautiful!

Actually, we tried to get to another restaurant nearby, but there was a long queue in the evening, so we went there tomorrow for lunch.
In this restaurant, we enjoyed a perfect outdoor seating with a bottle of wine, a plate of cheese and prosciutto and a show of making the fresh pasta by the hands of the local specialist.

Of course, you can walk back to your hotel or ride the metro, but there are plenty of taxis around Rome and the fares are worth the speed and comfort.
