Beauties in the Southwest

We woke up early and, without wasting time, went to a small bakery called Bread Manor for breakfast. There is a wide variety of baked goods and homemade desserts to choose from. After a hearty breakfast, we headed out into the countryside, taking some goodies with us on the way.

Not so far from Sosnovy Bor there is another interesting cultural object - Koporsk fortress. For a reasonable price you can take a sightseeing tour here. There are architectural fragments of XIII-XV centuries preserved on the territory. Visitors are offered the services of a guide, who will tell about the history of this place in all its colors.

After a tour of the castle, we drove on toward the capital. On our way we came across the small village of Lopukhinka, where, as we learned, the regional geological and hydrological monument Radon Springs and Lakes is located. As we walked around, we were struck by how clean and clear the water was, but even in the summer, the toughest people would dare to swim here.

We decided to have lunch in a small restaurant at the Gorki Golf Club. It occupies two floors and offers a picturesque panorama of the golf courses.
The menu consists mainly of national and European cuisine. For example, we liked the turkey liver pate with lingonberry sauce and the salmon tartare with guacamole.

Not so far from Gatchina there is another important place - the Dudergof heights. It is not always crowded here, because many people like the views from the observation platforms on the Dudergofskoe Lake. And the ascent to the heights turned out not to be difficult at all.

Having been to the top of Dudergofsky Heights, we decided to go down and take a short walk on the lake of the same name. On the embankment there is a good recreational area, if you want you can swim. The lake is fed by underground springs, so the water here is unusually clean and clear.

To wrap up our little trip, we headed to one of the nearby restaurants called "Nordic" for dinner. This place specializes in Scandinavian cuisine. Among the many fish dishes we tasted cod liver with avocado, as well as fried halibut and Danish herring with baked beets.
