The Blue or Persian Mosque got its name because of the color of the lining of the dome. The building, erected by the order of the Turkic Khan of Erivan Khanate Huseynali Khan Kajar in 1766, today is the only Muslim cathedral in Armenia. In Soviet times the mosque was turned into a museum of the city of Yerevan and then into a planetarium. Today it is one of the cultural centers of the Iranian community of Armenia and a functioning mosque.

One of the important attractions of Yerevan is the "Ararat" brandy factory. The local cognac has become firmly rooted in history and has become world famous. The factory is still in operation today, but this does not prevent guided tours. Here you can learn more about the history of cognac production and the factory itself.
In its cellars since the 19th century precious sorts of cognac have been preserved; some varieties are the same age as the factory itself. The building itself is also noteworthy: made of pink tuff, the volcanic rock, of which many houses in Yerevan are built, it makes a grandiose impression. The tour ends with a cognac tasting with appropriate explanations. You need to sign up for the tour in advance.
