And today we will go to the cave city of Uplistsikhe. The city was closed off from the outside world by a mountain and a river. Archaeologists believe that the cave city is about 3,000 years old. Now there are about 150 caves left, and originally there were about 700. The city has been repeatedly destroyed by earthquakes. The city, located in the mountain, had wine cellars, ovens and water pipes. Now it is an open-air museum.

We have lunch here in Gori. What a rich, spicy, delicious Georgian cuisine! Khachapuri, shish kebab, and some incredible first course!

After lunch we go to see the fortress of Gori. The fortress is located on a rock in the center of Gori. An earthquake in 1920 severely damaged many historical and archaeological monuments, the ancient fortress of Gori was not spared this fate. The walls are up to 2 meters wide in some places. It has been known since the XIII century. The fortress offers a beautiful view of the city.

It is interesting how countrymen keep the memory of Joseph Stalin - on the territory of the museum there is a wagon, in which the Generalissimo liked to travel. It is known that he did not like to fly planes. Let's see, in what wagon did the head of the most powerful country in the world travel.
We go in, kitchen, conductor's compartment, guard's compartment, washroom. Study: table, chair, bed. And (very interesting!) air conditioning. All modest. Finished with expensive wood. And the main advantage - armored glass in the windows. From the outside the car also does not stand out, a modest green car. It can't be distinguished from the others.

After passing through a beautiful square with wonderful views of the mountain and the freshest air, we enter the Stalin Museum. Inside the museum is the cottage where his family rented housing when he was a child. In 1939 they built a protective pavilion around the house. Tour guides tell about the childhood and education of I. Dzhugashvili, his subsequent activities, the leadership of the state, his personal family, his children...

Then we go to Borjomi. We stop at the ropeway station. What a stunning view! We can drink coffee in the fresh mountain air and admire the nature.

Surely everyone has heard about the famous healing water of Borjomi. Well, we have come to the very springs! Here you can not only drink it, but directly take a dip. There are three pools with hot mineral water and a shower with cold water. Water flowing through the rocks is saturated with healing minerals and for over 200 years people have been improving their health by taking baths.

And here is the famous resort town of Borjomi! In a wonderful green park you can enjoy warm Borjomi water, and who doesn't like warm water - if you walk through the park, there is a spring with cold water. Of course it is much tastier to drink, but the warm water is healthier. Fortunately, the composition of the water for the 200-year history of its use, has not changed.
The park is very beautiful, a real paradise on earth, but the main interest for tourists, of course, is the mineral water. The town is a resort, with a mild healing climate, due to its location in a gorge, no gusty wind penetrates here and there are no sudden changes in temperature. Archaeologists have determined that baths were taken here as early as the first millennium AD.

We have dinner in a typical Georgian cafe in Borjomi. The dough and cheese dishes are very tasty. The desserts are excellent. And of course the Georgian dishes are worth nothing but praise. The cafe is calm, atmospheric, and you want to stay longer.

After a long walk, we return to the hotel. The fresh air, mineral waters and walks around Borjomi have made us very sleepy!
