    • Taranto's castle and its guides.
    • The abandoned towers along the coast.
    • The paradisiacal beaches reminiscent of the Maldives.
    • The boat tour between the two seas at sunset.
    • Kayaking in the natural park of Otranto.
So many know Italy as the boot of Europe, and with this itinerary we will visit its heel, where the Adriatic Sea meets the Ionian Sea admiring the beauty and difference of two coasts so close yet so different.
We will depart from Bari for Taranto and descend to Santa Maria di Leuca before heading back up to Otranto and Torre Sant'Andrea, dining at the gates of Lecce before returning to the city. During this trip we will also have time to take a few dips in the turquoise and emerald waters of Salento; it would be a sacrilege not to do so.
We will not miss sunsets over the sea, visits to historic buildings and typical Apulian trulli, excellent glasses of wine and dishes of both fish and meat and the famous pasticciotti with cream or chocolate.
The song I chose as a soundtrack was a catchphrase from 2021 and tells of the influences of Salento, the part of Apulia we are going to visit, with its genuine soul and expressions in the local dialect. A hit of positive energy that I hope will help you embark on this journey in the right spirit. Ready, steady, go!

Ionian Coast: Low And Sandy Coasts

On this first day we will travel the coast along the Ionian Sea, not missing a swim in the sea at one of Salento's most famous beaches for its white sand, Punta Prosciutto. During the first stop we will visit the city of Taranto, often known more for the steelworks located in its suburbs than for the beauty of its sea or the history of its castle or rotating bridge. We will stop for the night in Porto Cesareo before resuming our journey south.

    Welcome to "Bottom" To Italy!

Also on this second day we will explore the Ionian coast, enjoying both a stop for a dip in what are called the "Maldives of Salento" and a walk through the Porto Selvaggio woods before reaching Leuca. Don't worry today, too, there will be no shortage of Salento's gastronomic delights.

Adriatic Coast: High Cliffs And Emerald Sea

The landscape changes completely on the Adriatic coast characterized by high cliffs and much more rock that transforms the color from the sea from turquoise to emerald. The best way to catch this difference is from the boat, enjoying an itinerary between the caves and the two seas. We will return to Bari, stopping in the Otranto area and for dinner just outside Lecce.
