Towards Petrozavodsk

In a place called Interpocelok, practically in the deep woods of Karelia, on the shore of a protected lake is an ancient monastery. The first temple was built in this area in the sixteenth century, originally the monastery was male, after its revival in the early nineties became a women's monastery, today the monastery is again a male.

Working hours: Tuesday through Sunday: 10:00-18:00. Monday is a day off. The ticket office closes half an hour earlier.

The museum preserves the history and achievements of the club over the nearly forty years of its existence. For these forty years the club members have been building sailing and motor ships and testing them on long voyages. Over the years, the club has made many research expeditions, participated in many international maritime festivals and visited the waters of many countries.

The two fishermen casting the net symbolize Russian-American joint work. Despite the fact that the monument was created in the workshops and factories of Petrozavodsk, there have long been rumors that the fishermen's net is actually an antenna transmitting spy information to the West.

The monument was laid on May 30, 1872 in honor of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Peter the Great. The monument is located in the center of Petrovsky Square. Peter is depicted standing upright, with his left leg slightly forward. He is dressed in a full dress uniform to his knees, belted with a sash, a ribbon of the order over his right shoulder, a star of St. Andrew on his chest, high boots with spurs on his feet, and a sword hanging at his side.
