We're Moving West

Primos Cafe is the perfect place to start the day. The environment is friendly and cozy. The menu is rich not only in main courses, but also in various snacks and desserts. We had pancakes with ham and fried chicken with toast and sauce. We also ordered ourselves oatmeal with pieces of fruit and juice.

Before leaving Jackson it was decided to visit one of the main cultural attractions of the city - Mississippi Museum of Natural Science. It is located on the edge of the city park. Among his expositions there are such interesting ones as an exhibition of mammals and reptiles, clams and amphibians, exotic plants and birds. In other words, there is a full-fledged cross-section of the state's natural diversity in the public domain.

Leaving Jackson, we decided for ourselves that we would definitely visit Vicksburg National Military Park, where there are monuments dedicated to the civil war, or rather the battle for Vicksburg. The park contains over a thousand monuments to these events, as well as various fortifications and structures erected for military operations.

On our way westwards we met a pretty good place called 10 South Rooftop Bar & Grill, where we decided to have lunch. The most important feature of this place is its location - right on the roof of the building on the corner of Clay Street, which offers stunning views of the Mississippi River. The menu includes a huge selection of meat dishes such as sandwiches, fried wings, various salads, soups and snacks.

Poverty Point National Monument is also one of the most important cultural and historical objects in the region. Several thousand years ago this place was used as a huge trading network, and now it clearly embodies all the achievements of the engineering thought of our ancestors. It is also worth mentioning that Poverty Point is currently inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

By that time, we could hardly have made it to the next big city, so it was decided to spend the evening in Monroe. Before dinner we went to Kiroli Park, which is a small oasis of untouched nature on the edge of the city. There are a lot of picturesque places on its territory, as well as playgrounds, paths for hikers, small gardens and picnic grounds.

After a rather long walk in the park, we got very hungry and decided to go to Raising Canes restaurant, which specializes mainly in meat dishes, or rather in fried chicken. A distinctive feature of the facility is the use of exclusively fresh. and not frozen meat in the preparation of dishes.

After dinner it was time to go to the hotel to rest. In summary, today we had time to visit interesting excursions, scenic parks, gardens, and historical sites. Tomorrow we will be on our way to Dallas, where our trip will end.
