Itea - Delphi - St. Luka's Monastery - Kamena Vourla

Between the mighty cliffs of the Phaedriads, the ancient Greeks marked the center of the world, the "center of the earth. And for us it is the mountain scenery, the Pythian games, the famous oracle and the ruins of ancient Delphi, which date back to the Mycenaean period. The theater and stadium, the Temple of Apollo, the Stoa, the black marble altar, the treasury with reliefs of the exploits of Hercules and Theseus, the Athena Pronoi's tholos rotunda are examples of the greatest art of the archaic age. And don't forget to wash your face with the water of the Castalia spring of eternal youth (to the right of the entrance to the archaeological site).

In the archaeological museum, admire ancient statues, including a unique bronze Ascendant from the 5th century BC.

Lunch at a local tavern, enjoying once again a breathtaking view of the Delphi Valley and the Corinthian Gulf, and head to the monastery of St. Luke.

The monastery of St. Luke is famous for its 11th-century mosaics and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Founded by a hermit, built and decorated by Constantinople craftsmen and local monks, it was repeatedly plundered by the Templar Crusaders, the Venetians, the Franks, the Turks and the Albanians, but remains one of the most beautiful monasteries in Greece.

The spa town of Kamena Vourla is known for its medicinal mineral water from hot thermal springs. We will stay here for 2 nights. The beach of Hotel Mitsis Galini owns its Blue Flag. There is also a swimming pool with medicinal water and a good spa.
