Your journey continues along the coast, then north on Highway 101. After passing through Buelton and heading east toward downtown Solvang, it's impossible not to notice the flock of ostriches along the roadside. You've arrived at Ostrichland, U.S.A..
The 32-acre park is home to more than a hundred ostriches and emus with a few other creatures running around. It's an easy, convenient, affordable detour. Guests can even pay extra to feed the birds, who love to aggressively peck at the food. It's fun to see, but watch your fingers.

You'll discover the walkable nature of Solvang in no time at all. Step outside the hotel and you're instantly immersed in Old World architecture, boutique shops and the city's iconic windmills. Take a quick walk to see what the downtown area is all about, passing through the small, but serene Solvang Park before returning back toward the hotel and heading to dinner.

Sear Steakhouse is a wonderful option for fine dining in Solvang – and just around the corner form the hotel. The restaurant was originally a private home and still has a comfortable worn-in feel with timeless light wood decor. If the weather is nice, request a seat on the front patio.
Sear Steakhouse proudly serves fresh produce from its own private farm. You can taste the quality in a variety of salads and the spicy cauliflower side dish. Yet the steaks are the main attraction here with tender Prime cuts served with herbs and a beef tallow butter.

Take your time walking back to the hotel. Solvang is especially beautiful at night with street lamps and illuminated shop windows guiding the way throughout the city streets. The Landsby has an excellent lobby bar that serves craft cocktails daily until 9pm. Hang out and mingle with other guests before returning to your room.
