Vintage Trains and Fjord Cruising in Flåm

Have breakfast at this charming little café with an enviable location right by the Sognefjord. If you prefer sitting inside you'll be nice and cosy with the rustic ambience, but if the weather is good, it's the outdoor terrace where you need to be. Baked goods and great coffee is what you'll find in the mornings, though we won't judge if you'd like to take a cheeky ice cream on the way out too.

Head out for the short walk to the Flåmsbana railway station and climb aboard. In just an hour, you'll go all the up to the Myrdal mountain station 867 metres above sea level. This train ride is the perfect way to enjoy the magnificent surrounding area. Sit back and relax in the vintage train carriage as rural farms, roaring rivers, and majestic mountains pass you by. This roundtrip train journey also includes a photo stop in front of the Kjosfossen waterfall where theatre actors perform a scene from a Norwegian folk story.
