The Crazy Forest and Heidelberg Castle

Let's start with a fun walk. Here at the 'Fratzenweg' which is hard to translate but it means something like grimaces road you will walk past some awesome wood sculptures. Sometimes they are obvious, sometimes you have to look a bit better to discover them. All in all, a 'Supertolles weise' to start your day.

Because it is the last day, you will have some driving to do to get you home at the end of the day. It is important to stop a few times underway to keep you fresh and awake. So make a little stop here, for example, to stretch your legs and swing your arms to get the blood flowing again.

Before you head for Heidelberg Castle, grab something to eat. It isn't much fun walking around in a castle with an empty stomach. In Restaurant La Villa you will find some great food to enjoy.

Finally! You have reached Heidelberg Castle, one of the most famous castle ruins in Germany. It is quite a hike to the castle, so be prepared for that. But I promise you, the hike is worth it. Quick stop! Have a drink and maybe a little bite to eat under the trees in the nice atmospheric biergarten before you head to Mainz.

The Mainz Cathedral is a big cathedral and worth the visit. It is one of the nicest examples of Roman architecture near the river Rhine.

A little medicine water never hurt anyone, you can find it here. Beware the taste of it is different from normal water which you will discover when you have a sip. There is also a resort nearby if you are interested in staying here. You can access this fountain via the main street or the clinic area via stairs.
