A good mood in the morning is key to the success of your next trip, so the place where you spend the first hours of the day is very important. That's why we went to a small Elements coffee shop for breakfast. There was a friendly and polite reception waiting for us. We got ourselves some brownies, muffins and, of course, a couple of glasses of cappuccino. It's also worth mentioning a nice ice cream. Since the road was not so close to us, and our route is mainly outside the big cities, we decided to take food with us on the road as well.
Starting our journey six days ago, we never thought we would be able to see a place that was once the official residence of British governors in the second half of the eighteenth century. Tryon Palace & Gardens is now a very curious manor house with a historic centre for excursions, historic buildings and picturesque gardens.
Moving along the coast, we could not deny ourselves the pleasure and slightly deviated in the route to drive up to the coast and see the famous Cape Lookout Lighthouse. It's hard to describe in words how beautiful the Atlantic views are from here. We walked along the shore, climbed to the top of the lighthouse, took quite a few incredible pictures, and then moved on.
After driving a huge number of miles, we decided to have a little picnic. For a long time we were looking for a place to do this, when suddenly we got on the road a small coastal park Swansboro Bicentennial Park.
We eventually made it to the big city because it was already late in the day and we decided not to spend the rest of the evening on anything but dinner, so we went straight to Duck's Grille And Bar. It serves the usual American cuisine there. There are quite a few gourmet dishes on the menu, but we liked fried squids and steak and vegetables the best.
